The core loop

Players mine blocks and fill their backpack while watching the heat gauge. Before they overheat, they ride the winch up and refine the ore into coins at the Refinery. Coins buy upgrades with exponential costs (pickaxe, backpack, fan, AC, suit, refine value), which let them dig deeper for ore worth 3x more per stratum and race others to claim timed ore pods.

Systems (12)
  • Pit of 24x24 blocks, 80 layers deep, on a 6-stud grid, with a bedrock ring. It has 5 strata (Ash, Basalt, Scorch, MagmaCrust, CoreVent) and 10 ores (2 per stratum). Ore value goes up 3x per stratum
  • Heat from 0 to 100, ticking every 0.25 s and set by the stratum's heat minus fan and AC cooling, scaled by suit resistance. A warning shows at 70. At 100 the player overheats, is lifted to the surface and loses 50% of carried ore. Heat drains above ground
  • Eruption cycle: Calm 240 s, Warning 20 s, Erupting 30 s (pit heat x3, lava glow rises), then Cooling 10 s, when the bottom two strata regenerate. A banner, countdown, siren beacon, pit glow and camera shake mark each phase
  • 6 ore pods per cycle (3x3x3 clusters of richer ore). The first player to break a pod block claims it for 60 s. Beacons are visible from camp and claim timers stay readable
  • 6 upgrade lines with cost = base × growth^level: Pickaxe, Backpack, Fan, AC, Suit, Refine. The visible gear changes with them: 5 pickaxe Tools, 3 worn fans, 3 backpacks and 3 placeable AC units
  • Placeable AC (one per player) that cools everyone inside its radius, with frost VFX and enter/exit cooling sounds
  • Winch surfacing (R, button or gamepad Y): a 2 s ride to a fixed arrival point facing the Refinery. The Refinery has a ProximityPrompt. Two shops sell upgrades: the Gear Forge and the Chill Depot
  • 7-step first-time tutorial: dig, feel the heat, surface, refine, buy a fan
  • HUD with a heat thermometer, depth gauge, backpack, coin counter, eruption banner and pod tracker. The Shop and settings were audited on phone, tablet, desktop and TV. 27 icons are rendered from the game's own models
  • Crater camp built from custom pieces: 5 landmarks, 10 camp props, 8 ground tiles and a 10-piece crater wall kit with lava falls. Lighting gets darker and hotter with depth and changes during eruptions
  • 14 effects (mining chips, rare-ore flare, heat shimmer, ash, embers, steam and more), 30 sounds including depth ambience and situational music, and 6 player animations with hits timed to the impact frame
  • DataStore saving for coins, upgrade levels, deepest depth, tutorial progress and player settings. Controls cover keyboard/mouse, touch and gamepad

Before you buy
  • It's a prototype, not a finished game: the core loop plays and the systems listed work, but polishing, balancing, testing and adding content before you launch is significant work of your own.
  • You need Roblox Studio (free) to open it.
  • Animations and sounds only play for the account that uploaded them: the included tool re-uploads them to yours (Node.js and an Open Cloud API key, about 10 minutes; SETUP.md walks you through it).
  • Automated tests: 83 pass, 0 fail, 11 not run. They show what was checked, not a promise; TESTS.md in the package names each one.
